Metaspace Entertainment, the developers of Plant Crossing, have revealed the 2023 roadmap for the fantasy move-to-earn metaverse, outlining a range of features aimed at driving Web3 adoption through social features and cross-chain support. The roadmap includes three primary steps that aim to take Plant Crossing to a new level.

The first step is finalizing core gameplay, which will allow players to collect, breed, level up, and exchange digital collectible fantasy creatures called Botans. The MVP has a dynamic Walk, Collect, and Earn gameplay, with the missing piece being the Collect to Earn module. The Farm mode is set to introduce this module in late April or early May, allowing users to stake Botans that meet specific requirements and earn rewards like $BNB.

The second step is boosting growth through Web3 social features, with the introduction of the Tribe mode. This group-based gameplay encourages users to join forces with friends and compete with others to win exclusive ranking rewards. Plant Crossing hopes to reach at least 1 million users by the end of 2023 through the Tribe mode.

The third step is to open the game to the entire Web3 ecosystem with cross-chain support. Ethereum and one L2 platform will be supported, allowing users from both ecosystems to transfer their Botans or other assets freely. The cross-chain support updates will roll out between late Q3 and Q4.

In early 2024, Plant Crossing will commence the development of the Avalon Platform, an innovative solution that connects users and brands on mobile devices through digital collectible-based rewards and immersive experiences. Plant Crossing will serve as the first flagship app on the Avalon Platform, introducing a plethora of NFTFi-based utility scenarios through co-branded NFTs and NFT LEGO-based mechanisms.
