The developers of My Neighbor Alice, a popular blockchain-based game, have announced the postponement of their much-anticipated Season 3 until the end of August. The decision comes in response to performance issues experienced during the first week of the Alpha Season 3 release.

A Successful Start Marred by Technical Difficulties

The Alpha Season 3 of My Neighbor Alice, which introduced the exciting new feature of crafting, received an overwhelming response from players. However, the developers noticed a significant delay in transaction submissions, which escalated over the weekend, prompting them to put the game into maintenance mode.

In collaboration with their partners at ChromaWay, the developers discovered that the astonishing number of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) created by players, exceeding 100,000, was the root cause of the degraded performance. While the issue is relatively straightforward to solve in code, it's much more challenging to do so while the season is live.

The developers have decided to restart the season at the end of August once the issues have been properly addressed. They believe that the alpha seasons are an opportunity to test the game together with the community and want to ensure that they provide the best possible experience for their players.

Looking Forward: A Better My Neighbor Alice

While the decision to postpone may be disappointing to some, the developers are confident that it is in the best interest of the players and the game. They are committed to delivering a high-quality gaming experience and are confident that this decision will allow them to do just that.

In the meantime, the developers encourage players to withdraw their deposited $ALICE tokens. However, if players choose to keep them, the developers will help migrate them to the new season. Any NFTs deposited will be safely moved over in a similar fashion to how they were moved from Season 2 to Season 3.

The developers of My Neighbor Alice appreciate the understanding and patience of their players and eagerly anticipate their return to Lummelunda at the end of August.
