Developer Matrix Labs has announced the release of the Inscriptions feature for Matrix World, a multichain 3D metaverse.
What Is the Inscriptions Feature?

The new feature allows users to store on-chain images permanently on ETH and BSC, the latter of which was recently integrated, by using inscriptions. This means that you can now inscribe a commemorative ‘MW Card’ featuring the date when the inscription was created, as well as your ‘Nickname’. Landholders can also use a ‘Land Inscription Card’ to represent their land with new land graphic design.
Through these cards, players can “capture a moment in time on the chain forever.” The announcement further clarifies however that this new feature is for experimental purposes, and that the new items do not act as “certificates of ownership.” As such, purchasing a Land Inscription Card will not give you ownership of a certain plot.
Creating an Inscription

By connecting your wallet to the official website, your profile will now have the option to change your ‘Nickname’, and you’ll also be able to see an EVM icon displaying which connected wallets can be used for inscriptions. Once you set up your Nickname, you can head on over to the new option ‘View MW Card’ from where you will be able to change the background of the card, as well as download the card and inscribe it directly. You’ll then choose whether you’d like to inscribe on Ethereum or the BNB Chain, after which you can confirm your transaction to have the inscription created.
As for land, simply select your desired plot in order to get an option to ‘Preview Inscription’. From there you will be able to proceed with the inscription proccess.
Future Plans
In the future, the developers plan on further expanding this feature by giving players the ability to form a fully on-chain profile picture (PFP) inscription that is based on your in-game avatar, making it possible to represent their avatars outside the metaverse. According to the announcement, the team plans on adding this together with the upcoming feature release that will mark the launch of the Avatar Editor.
