Yield Guild Games (YGG) will be hosting an Energy Party in Pixels this Friday to premiere a new video. This video is a real-life, conversational chat from earlier this year at an event in Venice Beach, L.A.

In this chat we'll hear discussions between Gabby Dizon, co-founder of Yield Guild Games (YGG), Luke Barwikowski, founder of Pixels, and Leah Callon-Butler, Board Member of the Blockchain Game Alliance and Director of Emfarsis, an investment advisory service for web3 startups.

The full video won't be released until Friday, but the YGG team has released a couple of teasers, and also given us a run-down of the discussions you can expect to see in the full, 50 minute video. These include:

  • the value of players from Southeast Asia and Latin America vs players from the U.S.
  • how Pixels' migration from Polygon to Ronin turbocharged its growth
  • why Pixels retention figures didn't drop as much as others post-TGE and after play-to-airdrop token distribution
  • Luke and Gabby's musings on the next-big-trends in web3-native incentive design and reward models
  • a funny story about "a really fancy lawnmower" that has accounted for more than half Pixels' total user acquisition (UA) spend to date
  • why there's absolutely no reason that play-to-earn (P2E) can't work
  • Gabby's opinion on the biggest mistake that experienced web2 game founders/developers make, when they move into web3
  • how YGG's "onchain reputation" system is helping web3 game makers filter low from high value players while fighting against bots

So be sure to set a reminder to join in on Friday, July 26th, 2024. The event will kick off at 10am EST in the Pixels Theatre.

In the meantime, here are the links to the already released teaser clips!
