What's New in Chapter 2?
Chapter 2 of Pixels brings a slew of changes to the game. Farming and crafting in the world of Pixels won't ever be the same!
In Chapter 2 a number of skills have been consolidated, putting them into a general categories rather than overloading the player with too many specific skills. This includes Granger merging with Farming, Aviculture, Slugger, Petcare, and Fishing all gathering together into a a new Animal Care skill, and Textiler, Redifferentiator, and Winemaking all consolidating into the Business skill.
Tiering has been added to several industries, creating different levels of crafting options. The affected industries are Farming, Cooking, Woodworking, Metalworking, Stoneshaping, Mining, and Lumberjacking. Expect to see a number of new recipes available among these industries as well! Over 100 in all!

Speck Overhaul
Specks are the name for players' personal land plots. Here you can farm and decorate to your heart's content.
Every new player receives a basic Speck with a Tier 1 House, four Tier 1 Trees, six Tier 1 Soil plots, and one Tier 1 Mine. Players can upgrade their Speck as many as five times. Players can place Tie 2 industries on their free Specks once they level their plot up to level 4. Upgrading Specks also opens up more land to build on.
Players with NFT lands have no limitations on industry placement, aside from space. They can place up to Tier 4 industries if they have the appropriate skill levels. NFT lands come in various sizes. Larger lands have more space.
If you don't already own an NFT land for Pixels and don't want to buy one, you also have the option of renting lands through LootRush.

Patch Notes
This update brings a ton of new things to the game. You can read the full patch notes here.
Even the most veteran players are excited at having so many new materials and items available for crafting. In fact, there is even a special, limited time event starting today (June 20th, 2024)!
Pixels Summer Solstice event
The Pixels Summer Solstice Even only comes once a year, and only stays for a day! This event lets players purchase Shorelime Seeds, which can then be grown and harvested on the beach.
Players can use Shorelimes to craft Shorelimade and complete a special quest.
The Summer Solstice event begins on June 20th, at 11am CST, and runs for only 24 hours. After that, no more Shorelimes can be planted until next year!
On June 21, 2024 at 11am CST, the soils, shop and Shorelimade crafting station will be removed, so don't wait to start growing your Shorelimes!

What is Pixels?
Pixels is a web3, multiplayer, crafting and farming game. It is free to play and runs on the Ronin blockchain. Players skill up as they play, opening up paths to grow and craft more complex items. Each player receives a free land plot with a house they can decorate.
Pixels supports unique, in-game avatars for numerous PFP projects, including Mocaverse, Bored Ape Yacht Club, Moonbirds, Play Ember, and dozens of others!
How to Play and Earn with Pixels
If you're a new player, the first thing you need to do is visit Karen in the Plot Office (just NW of the town square). Talk to her to get your Speck setup.
Once you have your Speck, visit it and head inside of your house where you will find the Task Board. The Task Board has a random, rotating selection of tasks to complete. These tasks involve delivering specific goods with rewards being offered in coins, and sometimes in Pixel tokens. The more lucrative quests will require higher tier goods, so you will want to build up your land plot and level up your skills if you want to earn from these quests.

Final Thoughts
This update brings some major growth to the complexity of the Pixels game. And makes it even harder for a single player to master every craft, encouraging community interaction. With other updates on the horizon, including guild tasks and contested lands, Pixels continues to build what was once a simple farming game into a full fledged web3 MMO!
Pixels has dominated the blockchain gaming charts lately, boasting over a million unique players every week. And though those numbers may drop a bit as the team works to combat bot accounts, I expect the activity of real, human players, to only increase over the coming months!
