Last week, Gala Games announced their first game, Town Crush, for their own blockchain. It’s a match 3 game made by Town Star Art Director Warren Marshall and a couple of other “rock stars from the Gala Games team.”
Players take on the role of a farmer progressing through the levels by gathering as many points as they can while also earning stars. Stars are used to buy additional lives, as well as “Eggsecutioner Chicken bombs for a quick edge in-game.”
Town Crush went into open alpha testing on April 11th, marking the first phase of what Gala Games calls Project GYRI, “the testing and preparation process that will lead us to final migration to Gala’s Blockchain.”

The name of their own blockchain is still undecided, so whether you want to call it Project GYRI, GalaChain or Gala’s blockchain, either way, you can help out the team stress-test their own blockchain right from your browser by creating a Gala Games account and heading over to their Games section where you’ll find the game when it is available for testing. As of writing the testing has concluded, but the developers plan to bring the game back in the future to gather more feedback.
