Shortly after releasing the official litepaper with $GALA reward distribution details, 4X MMO Echoes of Empire globally launched, making it available for anyone with a Gala Games account to jump in and enjoy tactical sci-fi gameplay.

On launch day, developer Ion Games published a day 1 strategy to help you gain a head start that will benefit you in the long run. As such, it’s likely a general foundation you’ll want to stick to regardless of when you start playing.

Early-game Strategy

Every new player will want to focus on building out their Homebase, with the interactive tutorial taking you through the most important elements you’ll need to know in order to successfully solidify your presence in space. Be sure to collect all the rewards for each objective of the tutorial that you complete so that you’re properly equipped to protect your Homebase, which consists of your Command Center designated for defense management and for keeping 3 types of resources: Ore, Vapor, and Composite. You will need these resources for buying blueprints and constructing ships and buildings, as well as for upgrading all three.

For starters, the developer’s official post suggests focusing on upgrading buildings and completing daily quests. Your next step should be to form a varied set of Capital Ships backed by lots of Support Ships so you can start sending fleets to planets nearby in an effort to maximize harvest and cargo capacity. Since you can’t Teleport with travelling Fleets, the post suggests to have a Peace Shield ready to use during active deployments. Upgrading Capital Ship Blueprints should also be on your checklist, and so is scrapping old model Capital Ships in the Shipyard so you can get some more resources to put to good use. Don’t forget to harvest Extractors before they get full, with the studio suggesting players to keep the number of resources lower to the protected amount that your resource vaults permit. And of course, avoid taking on any fights during your first day so you can try to peacefully strengthen your galactic fortress.
