Klaytn will be the new home for DeFi Kingdoms: Serendale
Earlier this week, DeFi Kingdoms (DFK) announced that it would soon move its Serendale map out from Harmony to the Klaytn network. The team will roll out a few updates to aid the transition, including tokenomics changes and new in-game bridge services.
To those who don't know, Serendale is DeFi Kingdoms' original game map on the Harmony blockchain. All the latest features, such as PvP, PvE, and new NFT pets, will go to Serendale first before Crystalvale - the game's iteration on Avalanche.
For that reason, the move will be pretty significant as DeFi Kingdoms is practically moving a huge part of its game to a new network. As to why Klaytn, the team claims it will be faster (4,000 TPS) and safer to run on the L1 blockchain developed by Kakao Corp. This came as no surprise since Serendale has been having difficulties working with Harmony for quite some time.
What's in Serendale 2.0?
Serendale 2.0 will be the new version of Serendale on Klaytn. With that, DeFi Kingdoms has proposed a list of changes to the game, pending community voting on August 30th. Firstly, the team will retire the Serendale on Harmony by turning off its smart contracts in stages. New in-game bridges will be available to support assets transfer between DFK Chain and Klaytn.
On top of that, $JEWEL will become the governance and fee-sharing token for all chains. The team will also introduce a new Klaytn Power Token as the main utility token in Serendale 2.0. Once it goes live, players can find four new hero classes and gene sets to play with in the new realm. Those who want to check out the details can refer to DeFi Kingdoms' Medium blog.
