Here's a first look at the upcoming map of DeFi Kingdoms (DFK)

Kingdom Studios, the creator of DeFi Kingdoms, has dropped an official trailer showing what's to come in Serendale 2.0. In the past few weeks, the team has been taking all necessary steps to ensure a smooth transition to the new map. Now that we have more info, let's take a look at what's in Serendale 2.0.

Serendale is DeFi Kingdoms' original game map based on the Harmony blockchain. Due to several technical issues, the team decided to move Serendale out from Harmony to the Klaytn network. As a result, Serendale will be playable on Klaytn as Serendale 2.0.

According to the team, Serendale 2.0 will be launched with minor visual upgrades to improve the overall look and feel of the realm. It's unclear whether DFK will do away with its pixel graphics, though fans don't seem to be bothered by that. Instead, they are more interested in the tokenomics of Serendale 2.0.

In the new DeFi Kingdoms map, $JADE will be the new power token usable for all gameplay-related features. This cryptocurrency will come in a total supply of 250 million tokens, with 125 million converted from the same amount of locked $JEWEL. With that, the total supply of $JEWEL will be reduced to 125 million tokens. It will also become the governance and fee-sharing token for all DFK chains.

Apart from the shift in tokenomics, Serendale 2.0 will feature four new hero classes and gene sets to play with. There won't be many changes in terms of gameplay, as the game will maintain all existing features, including the DFK Duel, pets, and crafting from the original title.

Serendale 2.0 is expected to be released in Q4 of 2022. In case you haven't seen it, here's a trailer showing what it looks like:
