After starting Season 8 off with two new characters: Azazel and Bishop, a new Champion called Akumu is now available for this month’s battle pass in Champions Arena, a blockchain turn-based RPG that is a part of the Gala Games ecosystem.

Akumu

Akumu is described as being a blood-stained armor who carries a dark curse that corrupts the minds of those who inhabit it, causing the wearer of the twisted samurai-like equipment to only want to destroy everything and everyone. This Champions is not the first character to wear this piece of aggressive armor, as many before have also donned it in an effort to control its dark power, but fell prey to it in the end.

This character’s normal attack inflicts damage on a single opponent depending on the max HP of Akumu, decreasing their turn gauge in the process, while a card can increase the lowering to the turn gauge.

The abilities this bloodthirsty warrior can use are Hell Slash, Hellish Warfield, and Recursive Curse. Hell Slash lets you attack all enemies based on Akumu’s max HP, with a card match strengthening the attack. Hellish Warfield is essentially a stronger version of Hell Slash, with a card match adding even more damage to the mix.

Recursive Curse lets you protect an ally that has the highest Attack, increasing the turn gauge of all alies if that protected one gets taken out or is heavily damaged. If Akumu is guarding no ally in the start of his turn, then “it will sacrifice life to designate a new guarded ally.”

How to Claim

In order to earn this new Champion, you’ll have to get this month’s Battle Pass in-game, through which you complete quests in order to earn various items. If you manage to get all the way to the end, you’ll be able to get Akumu and lots of Soul Stones.
