Captain & Company’s Node Deployment Goes Live on NodeOps

Node Deployment for pirate-themed MMORPG Captain & Company is now officially live on AI-powered DePIN orchestration layer and NaaS (Node-as-a-Service) NodeOps, allowing anyone who bought node license keys from the game’s recent and ongoing Node Sale to easily deploy their asset through the node platform.

How to Deploy Captain & Company Nodes on NodeOps

Anyone holding Captain & Company Node licenses can now head to the game’s own node page on NodeOps to deploy their holdings. The page can be found linked in an official X announcement. Upon opening, holders will want to connect their EVM-compatible wallet holding the required asset to the NodeOps Console. You can also login via email or Google and then have your wallet connected to the account. Next to having at least one Node Key, owners also need to have enough funds or credits for the Node subscription ($12/month), alongside a minimum of 0.01 ETH for the operator wallet balance and a minimum $5 for the node setup.

Once connected, you’ll have to click on the “Fetch NFT” button to detect the quantity of nodes you hold. This will let you pay a 1 month subscription for $12 in credits. If you don’t have credits, there should be an option in the bottom left corner to add credits using $NODE, stables or other tokens, or fiat via a credit or debit card.

With the subscription paid for, you can head to the NodeFolio page that is accessed on the left side of the website under the Account section. From there, you should have an option to delegate your game nodes under the Deployments part of the page.  You’ll need to fetch NFTs again here in order to choose the quantity of NFTs that you’d like to delegate while paying fees in ETH to confirm the transaction. With the transaction completed, you should have delegation successfully set up and thus your node properly deployed.

What Are Captain & Company Nodes?

Captain & Company Nodes are user-operated servers designed to power the Captain & Company game and its ecosystem. Specifically, these soulbound NFTs currently verify operations and distribute $CNC tokens as rewards. They are the only way through which $CNC tokens are generated, making every token generated by players as there is no pre-mine for $CNC involved. In the future, these assets might have more on-chain logic across “a much larger network.”

There are a total of 1 million nodes, and more than 170k+ nodes have been sold so far from the Node Sale that started on April 15th. If you want to get a node for yourself and own a piece of the game’s economy, then you can head over to the official sale page linked in the Node Sale launch announcement on X to mint one or multiple $CNC Node Keys while supply remains. There is no specific end date for the sale. You can currently mint Node Keys on the Abstract chain using ETH or $KAP tokens for the price of 0.0043 ETH or 1194.44 $KAP tokens. This price is subject to change based on the pricing schedule, with the current prices representing tier 4 nodes. There are a total of 10 tiers.

The $KAP token is the official token of KAP Games, the multi-chain web3 game publishing ecosystem powering Captain & Company. As a result, if you mint a Node Key using the $KAP token, you’re actually minting at a 30% discount compared to users who choose to mint with ETH. All $KAP tokens used for minting nodes are said to be burnt.

What Is the $CNC Token?

$CNC is the main premium currency of the Captain & Company ecosystem that can only be generated by players through fair launch nodes. The ecosystem token is designed to be used for crafting, making purchases, participating in governance, and placing in liquidity pools for more rewards. Token holders also earn a share of Warchest rewards if predicting the correct faction war outcome. There will be a total of 10 billion $CNC tokens, all generated through nodes, with each node emitting a total of 10k $CNC over the course of 4 years.
