WorldShards, a life sim sandbox MMORPG, is officially launching in Early Access on Monday, February 26nd.

Early Access Details

This early version of the Web3 title will allow eligible players to try out new features of the game as they’re released while providing constructive feedback to help the developers during this active stage of development ahead of the official release. As everything in this phase is still subject to change, your feedback could potentially influence what gets included in the game.

According to the official website, participants will get to embark on a journey throughout a colorful sandbox world in which you can create your own customizable island in which you can set up your own house, farm and more. Engage in third-person combat solo or in a guild as you take part in a player-driven economy by crafting various items to trade and barter with other players.

How to Participate

If you’d like to give this vibrant MMORPG a go in its early state, you will have to acquire either an Early Access Key or a Founder’s Island. Both types of NFTs can be bought from the Open Loot Marketplace when the Launch Sale begins on Thursday, February 15th at 8 PM UTC. The game’s official website links to the relevant section of the section of the marketplace.

During the Sale, there will be 500 Early Access Key Bundles up for grabs for $60 each. A bundle contains 1 tradable Early Access key, and 1 personal non-tradable key. This means that by buying this bundle, you get one key for your own personal use to play the early version of the game, and one NFT key that you can sell on the Open Loot Marketplace to anyone who missed out on the sale but would like to play the game.

You can also purchase a Founder’s Island, the cheapest being the rare Island of Prosperity for $100, but do note that if you end selling the NFT, you will lose access to the game. Purchasing a Founder’s Island gives you increased island capacity and more workbench crafting slots, meaning you are allowed to place more objects while expanding your crafting workbench’s capabilities.

There is also a giveaway for a premium Decorative item from the “Concept Art” collection up for grabs with a total supply of 1000 that you can sign up for and use later in the game if you end up winning it.
