Following the start of Play to Airdrop Season 2 which launched together with the official release of free to play RTS Wild Forest, developer Zillion Whales has now enabled the previously introduced Forge feature to work with Release Units while launching the Premium Battle Pass, now available for purchase in the Essence Shop.

What Is the Forge?

The Forge is one of the newest features introduced to the latest season, designed to allow players to burn assets they don’t need into Essence, a unique off-chain currency that can be spent on various assets in the Essence Shop, including off-chain Units and the new Battle Pass. The Premium Battle Pass is only available temporarily this way as a result of player feedback, meaning that it may not be possible to buy it this way in the future but only with $WF tokens instead.

Initially this burning mechanism was only usable with Beta Units, including off-chain and on-chain ones, but after Beta Unit conversion ended on July 21st, 11:59 PM UTC, it’s now possible to convert Release Units to earn different amounts of Essence. In the future, players will be able to burn Skins and more assets as well.

How Much Essence Can You Earn?

The amount of Essence you get from burning Units depends on their Level and Rank. These two factors make the Unit more valuable separately. Here’s how much Essence you get based on the Unit’s Rank:

  • Common = 75 Essence
  • Uncommon = 275 Essence
  • Rare = 800 Essence
  • Epic = 3,025 Essence
  • Legendary = 14,600 Essence

This means that higher Ranks are worth more because of the resources you spend on your Units. Unit progression involves using $WF tokens and Common Release Units, with each Common Card adding 75 Essence, while every $WF token is valued at 25 Essence.

The value of a Unit is also increased by using Shards and Gold to level up the asset. Each Shard used to level up a Unit is worth 0,0045 Essence, while every Gold spent is equal to 0,0445 Essence.

So overall, the more resources you invest into increasing the Level and Rank of a Unit, the more Essence you’ll get from it if you choose to burn it. If you have plenty of Units that you don’t need anymore, then it may be worth burning them to get the new currency, which you can use to get assets in the new Essence Shop that could have something more useful for you. You can even use this Essence calculator tool made by social gaming platform Tribally to easily figure out how much your Units could be worth.

What’s in The Essence Shop?

The Essence Shop currently lets you buy a Unit Chest for 200 Essence. Buying this chest will let you get a random in-game Unit of varying rarity. The type of Units included in these chests will depend on the league you are currently in. As for rarity, you have a 75% chance of getting a Common Unit, a 20% chance for an Uncommon Unit, and a 5% chance of snagging a Rare Unit.

For a limited time, you can now also buy the Premium Battle Pass through the in-game Essence Shop for 15,000 Essence. This will allow you to gain double the rewards as you complete various missions to progress through both the free and Premium Battle Pass, earning prizes that include Units that can be minted into NFTs, and $WF tokens, for which no official TGE date is yet available. You may also end up finding 7 Rare Spirit Warrior Skins from in-game Chests included as Battle Pass rewards. These Skins can be minted into NFTs that can then be traded on the Ronin-powered Mavis Marketplace. The earnable new Skins are available for the game’s most popular Units: Swordsman, Archer, Knight, Sniper, Ninja, Glider and Juggernaut. The floor price for Skin NFTs is currently 0.20 $RON (~$0.40).

New Mint Limits

The studio has decided to make changes to the Mint Limits following community feedback in order to provide a fairer system that should help in lowering bot activity. This means that new players have a temporary limit that requires them to have a minimum rating of 1000 to successfully mint off-chain assets into NFTs. Since the game has a global daily mint limit, this change has been implemented in order to give real active players more room to mint, as it seems that bots have generally been using up most of the available global mint slots. Another change is also underway: the Reputation System. This upcoming system is designed to determine your Mint Limit based on the number of Lord NFTs owned, with more specific info to be announced in the future.
