Developer Qube Crypto Space has released information on pets for their free-to-play title WarQube, a blockchain game mixing elements of tower defense, MOBAs and isometric shooters.

The Medium blog post reveals players will be able to have pets, who will act as “special helpers” that can help out in the many battles players will get to face. There will be 3 different pets: Koi, Obsidian Raven and Protector.

Each pet has a specific function. Koi is a fish that has wings and is used for healing players. The Obsidian Raven is a special military drone whose function is to shoot down enemies within a certain radius while the Protector is a defensive drone designed to prevent incoming attacks from inflicting damage on the player.

These pets will come in the form of tradable NFTs in different rarities, with rarer ones providing more benefits.

Last month, the developers released a PvE gameplay teaser showing the main game mode in which players work together to defend a giant cube from waves of enemies. Players will be able to choose which character they want to play as, as every character differs not only visually but also mechanically, having a different weapon, different special abilities and stats. While the game will be playable for free, those who’d like to earn will have to purchase a Standard Avatar NFT or a Premium Avatar NFT. The game’s economy will be dual-token based, with $WQC being the uncapped reward token while $WQT will be the governance token capped at 1 billion.

WarQube is set to undergo alpha testing sometime in 2023.
