Web3 gaming studio WAGMI Games has officially announced that they are working on integrating the Immutable Passport wallet into WAGMI Defense, a mobile strategy game similar to Clash Royale.

Why Integrate the Immutable Passport?

Throughout the closed beta version of the game that’s been playable through the Google Play Store, the developers have noticed that their current custodial wallet solution isn’t up to par with what they’re looking to have for the game’s upcoming soft launch. Namely, the one currently being used, called Magic Link, is said to have been functional thus far; however, there have been some issues that worsened the user experience. These include “difficulties in wallet custody claiming,” creating accounts, trading assets, as well as “problems with evolving and scrapping cards.”

In order to provide a seamless onboarding experience, which they team says “has always been our fundamental priority,” they’ve decided to choose the Immutable Passport as the viable solution.

What Is the Immutable Passport?

The Immutable Passport is a non-custodial wallet solution that provides a user-friendly onboarding experience, making it simple for Web2 gamers to jump into Web3 by featuring automated wallet creation and the ability to sign up without using a password.

By integrating this solution, the developers effectively eliminate the issues present with Magic Link, paving the way for an accessible experience. This means that once Passport is in the game, new players will be able to create an account without using a password thanks to authentication options that let players sign in via email, Google, or an Apple account, creating a wallet automatically in the process.

When Will the Passport be Implemented?

Players can expect to see Passport get implemented into the Web3 title sometime later this month. In the official announcement, it’s stated that when it does get introduced, it’ll open the way for “the next stage of our game launch” which is said to take place shortly after migrating to the new wallet.
