Blockchain gaming studio Vulcan Forged has announced Season 2 for its free-to-play play-to-earn card game, Berserk.

The new season is set to kick off on July 4th.

Previously played as a browser game, the developers have decided to switch it over to being a downloadable title via the new Vulcan Forged Launcher.

Berserk is a collectible card game that anyone can play for free, earning XP and in turn, $LAVA, the core, earnable token of the Vulcan Forged ecosystem, as well as the cryptocurrency used for transaction fees in Vulcan's own carbon-negative, tree-planting Elysium blockchain. XP is earned when losing too, but obviously you get significantly more when winning.

Players get a free set of non-NFT starter cards they can use to create decks, practice against AI and play online, while NFT cards can be bought and rented over on the Vulcan Forged marketplace. Playing in the Starter League allows free-to-play players to earn a maximum of 7 $LAVA per day. Players need to acquire 10k XP on their account in order to be able to withdraw all of the earned $LAVA. This doesn’t mean you have to stick to just playing Berserk to reach that amount of XP though – you can also play the fantasy MMORPG VulcanVerse, which, as of writing, is on its own, separate launcher. This metaverse can be played for free by renting a land as a Cedalion, sharing a percentage of your earnings with the land owner. As long as you’re playing them all on the same Vulcan Forged account, you’ll be able to accumulate XP as well as $LAVA on your road to 10k XP.
