Turn-based sports game UNKJD Soccer (formerly known as MonkeyLeague), which officially launched in Brazil last month followed by Spain this March, is getting AI integration that will be backed by 3 new game modes before the studio announces an AI-powered Web3 title.

Integration Plan

The team has laid out a 5-step plan to successfully introduce AI-based gameplay to their existing title.

Step 1 is already complete and involved releasing the mobile title on Android and iOS devices. In step 2, the team is developing an on-chain log to gather valuable data to help in training AI models, with the log set to be accessible by anyone on both Base and Solana. The third step will be about releasing a set of no-code AI tools that will allow players to create and train their very own AI, with development on these tools already underway. According to the announcement, the studio will allow professional AI companies to use on-chain game data to train their own models as well.

For the 4th step, players will get to put their AI models to use by playing against each other, with the option to compete for rewards also set to be available. By having your AI model play against other AIs, you are further training your model, with losing said to give you the option to “feed your AI with the game results,” gaining more useful data to help you create a better model.

The 5th and final step will mark the introduction of the AI marketplace, allowing players to turn their AI into NFTs for others to buy and use to win matches, monetizing the work you’ve put into creating your advanced AI coach. After this goes live, the developers plan on introducing their next AI-focused title.

New Game Modes

Players will get to use their AI in 3 game modes: Training Mode, Fan Zone and King of the Hill. The first mode will let you test out your model through a number of different scenarios, while in Fan Zone, you will actually be able to vote for AIs made by other players, earning a share of the rewards whenever they win. King of the Hill will be an ongoing tournament in which AIs compete for prizes by climbing to the top of the leaderboard in an attempt to be ranked 1st place and thus be the king of the hill. Playing this mode will require buying a ticket. If you lose, a portion of your purchase go the winner, some of it goes to their fans, and a percentage also goes to a progressive prize pool for the tournament winner.

The announcement teases that the studio will be "partnering a lot,” with the first AI partnership set to be revealed in a few days.
