Max Level Studios, the developers of Web3 MMORPG Uldor, has revealed that the Unreal Engine 5 game will feature an AI-powered character creator called Alara.

What Is Alara?

Alara is your creative AI assistant that powers the game’s character creator. She has been trained on the numerous customization options available in the creator to give players the power to create personalized characters in an easier way, saving time in the process. In RPGs with deep customization options, players tend to spend plenty of time adjusting the appearance of their character. Some also happen to feel overwhelmed by the vast number of options some games provide. In order to help both sides, the developers are integrating AI to their character creator to make it simpler than ever to create a character that looks the way you want.

Features

On the character customization screen, players will have the option to chat with Alara on the right side of the screen. You will be able to describe the character you want to be created either by writing out a text prompt or using your microphone to input a voice message. Whether you choose to provide highly-detailed information or keep it broad, the AI assistant will do her best to set up a character tailored to your requests.

You don’t need to ask the AI to create a character from scratch – if you’d just like to make a couple of small changes to the character you’ve been making, you can ask Alara to do it for you. This means that players have complete freedom and control over the character they want to make – you're not forced to use the AI, but the option is available at any time in your creation process. For even more speed and efficiency, you can even ask Alara to make multiple adjustments in the same response, and the AI will accordingly adjust the proper settings.

The AI even comes with an undo function, so if you’re not happy with the change the AI makes, you will see an option in the chat to restore the character to a previous version, and this is available after every response. Players can also simply ask Alara to undo the change herself. The AI is also capable of undoing half the change, so if the adjustment Alara made was a bit too much to your liking, you can ask her to slightly undo the change. For example, if you ask that the character’s eyes be bigger but Alara makes them too big, you can then request that the change is slightly reduced in order to get the desired result.

A screenshot feature is also included, so if you’d to take a picture of your character, you can simply ask Alara to do it for you.
