The development team behind Troverse has recently posted some new footage of Barren Savannas and Arctic biomes, giving us sneak peeks into some of the many detailed environments we will be able to explore in the upcoming space exploration survival game.
Earlier this month we got to see a sneak peek of the freezing Arctic biome, one of the many biomes that are set to be included in the full version of the game, containing frozen liquid surfaces made using a beautiful shader that features “fake parallax mapping FX for added depth.” Next to revealing how the ice surfaces are made, the team also mentioned in a previous tweet that we’ll be able to dig through these frozen surfaces using a Terra-Gun.
The other biome they’ve revealed thus far is labeled as the Barren Savannas. It’s full of various different plants scattered throughout varied terrain that might require the use of a jetpack in order to properly traverse.
These are just some of the many sneak peeks the developers have been giving over on the game’s official Twitter profile throughout this year so far, including this this more-recent tweet that features a glimpse of the Volcanic Saharas biome, accompanied by concept art of an alien rock found in that biome.
The Troverse metaverse comprises of 10,000 procedurally-generated 3D planets that players can own and will be able to explore. According to the roadmap on the official website, the blockchain title was migrated over to Unreal Engine 5 in Q4 2022, and the team now plans on releasing v1.0 of their whitepaper either in March or April this year, alongside the game’s first playable build that is also slated to come out in one of those months. That build will be available only for planet owners though – the first public build is set to come out at some other unspecified time in the future.
