Developer Endless Clouds has announced some of the updates coming to Season 2 of Treeverse while teasing a potential launch date that may occur by the end of this year.

Core Season 2 Updates Coming to Treeverse

According to this week’s X thread, the blockchain gaming community can look forward to substantial core updates in the second season of this free to play MMORPG.

Some of the new additions that have been teased so far include overhauled combat, a new talent tree system, new and upgraded zones, better UI and icons; the introduction of pets, mounts, and emotes, as well as the inclusion of an NFT Shop where you will be able to buy assets only using $END tokens. The game’s founder, Loopify, also mentioned in a separate investor update post that the new season will feature many sales in $END tokens, “including partner drops.”

While the first season of the game was an opportunity to give players the first public playable version to enjoy in an early state, the second one is said to be the season in which you will actually get to see what the “true core” of the game is supposed to be by introducing new features, upgraded systems, and more additions not yet revealed.

When Is Season 2 Launching?

The launch date for Season 2 is planned to take place within either December 2025 or January 2026. This is said to be the next “biggest milestone” for the game, per Loopify’s previously mentioned post, and is one that will be a major improvement over Season 1.

“The good thing with games is there are much more significant product updates than most protocols who won't change much. We have a lot more to build and share.”

That being said, given this launch is a couple of months away, will there be anything new to the game before then? Well, it does seem like the team is hard at work on delivering a beta release, though it’s not clear when that will take place. When it does, you can expect to see a good number of core features introduced for the community to try out before the new season is live as the fully realized vision of what the game should be like.

Season 1 ran from April to May with a total reward pool of 150k $IMX, 1.25 million $MON, 375k Immutable Gems, 20 ETH, and 2.76% of the total $END supply for 3000 eligible players. Since that season is over, the only thing players can do right now is to simply enjoy the game, level up, and make their character as strong as possible to be fully ready for the upcoming reward campaign.

Latest Dev Updates for Season 2

In the meantime, as you progress your way through the free to play title, you can also read up on the team’s monthly development updates to get a better idea of all the new content and features you can expect to see included in Season 2. The last post on July 1, update #43, is loaded with images and GIFs of various new assets, environments, foliage, UI, animations, and character emotes, and they all look really good, so definitely do check out all the cool new art the developers are working on.

The latest update also talks about behind-the-scenes work done on engineering and design, revealing that hundreds of new game items have been introduced to the web3 title. Combat mechanics are being refined, and a considerable amount of dev time has been spent on bringing Lorwick town to life with varied animations, NPCs, and more. Talent trees have been set up for the upcoming beta release, though engineers still have to add it in directly as it is currently only based on spreadsheet data. Engineers are also working on various core systems needed for the beta, while preparatory work on auxiliary systems that include the cosmetic system, player profile, and storage/bank system is now underway.

Core systems for the custom emotes system have been introduced, and the team is also developing support for charged combat abilities, as well as support for being able to actually move while attacking.

“Our current plan of action is to get the core experience to a really good, polished state, focusing on quality over quantity. We should start seeing the fruits of this labour in the upcoming months, with a good chunk to show for it in our Beta launch.”

$IMX Stakers Airdropped 500K $END Tokens

Following the launch of the $END TGE on July 4 and the start of trading on July 7, $IMX stakers have been rewarded with a 500k $END token airdrop, which is currently a total value of around $8746 at a token price of $0.01749.

The rewards for $IMX stakers don’t stop there though. At some point in October, $IMX stakers can look forward to another 500k $END tokens coming their way, according to the X post by Immutable’s co-founder, Robbie Ferguson.
