TheShoes, a programmer has gifted  Decentraland with DCL studio, a powerful virtual multi-camera mixing board. Prior to his innovation, the Decentraland has been encountering some problems. Due to this problem, the capabilities of budding directors, streamers, and content creators were limited on the platform. Users struggle to use the available tools to deliver creative live videos.

This challenge faced on  Decentraland platform triggered TheShoes to provide an appropriate solution. In January 2022, TheShoes noticed the rising interest in Decentraland through a digital marketing platform. In his research about Decentaland, he discovered that there was a lack of content creation with multiple camera perspectives. Subsequently,

TheShoes created a Decentraland Desktop Client modification on the Decentraland open-source blockchain. The newly added plugin will allow creators to enjoy more digital freedom. Henceforth, users can access 9 programmable camera angles using the middleware plugin on the Decentraland. The plugin also has a freecam and several image tweaks. Users can apply basic touch settings such as saturation, contrast, lens distance, and black fade among others. They can also resume, pause or restart animation using simple keyboard controls.

How to Install DCL Studio on Decentraland

Users must have technical knowledge before they can set up the plugin by themselves. Users can choose to do it on their own or invite a technical expert.

Interestingly, TheShoes released a 46-minute tutorial video for users who want to install the feature on their own. Users must clone the Decentraland Desktop Client modification from the official GitHub, load the project and introduce the DCL Studio Unity Package to the Main Scene. Users can animate any of the nine cameras using the animation panel. Animation settings can be done using keyframes, modifying position, rotation, and scale.

Early contributions from TheShoes include a  sample project combining Epic Games' MetaHuman digital characters with Amazon Polly text-to-speech.
