Following the end of the Easter VoxEdit Contest, The Sandbox has now officially announced the start of The Walking Dead VoxEdit Contest.

Through this creative competition, artists have a chance of winning from a prize pool of 15,000 $SAND tokens by creating a unique voxel asset that is based on the popular comic book series. It’s important to know that the asset you create must stay within and be consistent with The Walking Dead universe, meaning no crossovers with other IPs are allowed. This means that you can’t say, make a zombie Smurf, and you also can’t submit assets that wouldn’t fit in the same setting, meaning things such as “spaceships or talking animals” are not allowed.

It’s also very important to keep in mind that if you decide to depict any characters from this zombie world, you can only do so with characters from the comics, and not the popular TV show. Your entry also has to be family-friendly, meaning no “sexual, homophobic, racist, and other NSFW or inappropriate references.” Of course, the asset has to be made in VoxEdit, The Sandbox’s software for creating and animating voxel assets. The maximum allowed size for an asset is 512 voxels tall, with a max floor print of 512 x 512 x 512, as well as a limit of 5000 faces and 175 nodes.

The winner of the contest gets to walk away with 6000 $SAND, while 2nd place gets 3500 $SAND, 3rd place 2000 $SAND and spots from 4th to 10th are awarded 500 $SAND each.

Submissions opened today, May 1st, and will close on May 14th at 11:59 PM UTC, while the results will be announced on June 3rd.

The submission link and instructions on how to successfully apply can be found in the official announcement here.
