Directive Games has announced the addition of 9 new Familiars to the in-game shop of Ronin-powered top-down hero shooter The Machines Arena, available only during Open Beta Season 1.
New Collectibles
The studio has introduced 3 new sets: Gad, Pix and Flux, with each batch featuring 3 different variants, making it a total of 9 new floating collectible companions that players can buy and mint. Each variant is designed around a certain power-up, so while one may bring increased damage, another variant buffs health, while a 3rd variant in one of the new sets reduces cooldown on all abilities except ultimates.
Of the 3 new sets, 2 of them are labeled as Rare while one is Epic. You can buy each new companion on its own as a single purchase, or you can get them in a bundle at “a special reduced price,” according to the Discord announcement. The same announcement also adds that players can mint them on Ronin once bought by using your inventory.
These new batches come shortly after the first premium collection was removed from the store, as that one was available from the start of open beta until May 28th. As for these new unique companions, it’s said that they can only be purchased until the end of Season 1 of the open beta version of the Web3 title. In the future, the developers plan on introducing Familiar leveling as well as quests geared towards these companions, according to an official blog post.
Based on the info currently available, it doesn’t seem quite clear as to when this season will actually end. The Machines Arena launched in open beta on April 23rd this year, making it available as a free-to-play title for Android devices and Windows PCs. Anyone interested can download the PC and Android versions through the game’s official website, with the PC one also available through the Epic Games Store.
