LA-based clothing brand The Hundreds has officially partnered with metaverse platform some.place to launch a streetwear shop in the metaverse.
This 3D store is a recreation of the one found in Fairfax, Los Angeles, and it’s made in Unreal Engine 5. It launched on May 24th in closed beta, so in order to gain access, you’ll have to sign up for it over at the official website of some.place. Since they’re only allowing a certain limited capacity, the beta is currently full at the time of writing, but you can still sign up for the waitlist if you’d like to check out this earlier version in the future.
In a tweet from The Hundreds Twitter account, it’s revealed that the experience consists of token-locked rooms, which means that in order to access them you need to own an Adam Bomb Squad NFT or a Badam Bomb Squad NFT – both from NFT collections made by the streetwear brand. By holding one of their NFTs, you’ll be able to explore and shop “resurrected interpretations of The Hundreds Santa Monica, The Hundreds New York, The Hundreds San Francisco within the current The Hundreds Los Angeles flagship.”
According to Decrypt, this digital store comes with exclusive drops, as well as clothing offered exclusively to owners of Adam Bomb Squad NFTs. Bobby Kim, the Co-Founder of the brand, also told them that this “unique digital experience is really meant for our community to come together, shop, and socialize, rather than gamification.”
some.place is a metaverse service platform that launched in 2021 and is now focused on creating digital experiences geared towards helping brands connect their communities “in unprecedented ways — immersive, social, and rewarding,” with The Hundreds being the first such brand to lead the platform’s new initiative.
