After announcing the Dawn Breaker seasonal event and releasing a Banner for Solar Flare participants, the Sunflower Land developers have now added in the Design Mode, a new mode that gives players the opportunity to creatively express themselves through customizing their own farm.

This means that it’s now possible to move around buildings and collectibles on your farm, giving you numerous ways to make your farm stand out from the rest. You can also buy a variety of different decorations that you can add to your plot, giving you even more freedom to make your pixelated home look just the way you want.

The new mode can only be accessed while you’re on your island, while turning on the new mode can be done so using the drag icon in the top right corner of the screen. In the new mode, you can easily hold and drag items around by first clicking on them, while removing any items you don’t want placed using by clicking on an item and then double clicking a rusty shovel icon. Removed items are put back into your chest, from where you can place back the items again should you want to.

Resources can’t be moved around, while some buildings aren’t movable until they are finished with what they have in progress. 

To mark the launch of this new feature, developer Thought Farm has announced in the game’s official Discord server the start of a creative contest called the #OnlyFarm Competition. It started on April 28th and will end on June 2nd. During these 5 weeks, players get to utilize the new feature to build the most imaginative farm that they can for a chance at winning in one of 5 different categories: Beautiful, Collector, Creative, Wholesome and Funniest. There will be a winner for each category every week, as well as a Grand Prize Winner for the whole competition. Participation requires uploading a 30-second TikTok video tour of your farm.
