Thought Farm, the developer of the play-to-own blockchain farming game Sunflower Land has teased in one of their latest tweets that they will soon release dynamic NFTs.
This means that players will be able to use and upgrade farmer NFT characters as they progress through the game. They also mentioned soul-bound tokens, a term used by Ethereum creator Vitalik Buterin as a way to describe NFTs that can’t be traded nor transferred to anyone. Both these dynamic, upgradeable NFTs and soul-bound tokens were discussed in an almost hour-long Twitch live stream by one of the game’s developers almost a week ago. You can check out the stream here.
Farmer NFTs will not only be in-game characters used for farming but they’ll also be PFPs. What sets them apart from other PFPs is that these ones will actually change over time as players expand their farm and upgrade their character with various skills using experience gained from cooking and feeding the farmer character. Farmers will have a stamina system, with various actions taking up a certain amount of energy, but as players improve their farmers, their stamina level will also be higher, allowing players to do more with more energy.
“Each farmer NFT will have a unique address on the blockchain where you can send tools, clothing and other in-game boosts. When a token is sent to the character, it will be soul bound. You can send multiple items to a farmer's inventory but only one type of item can be applied at a time. For instance, a character can only wear 1 hat at a time - the other hat would stay in the inventory.”
The Sunflower Land team recently added the Rooster to the game, which players can now craft over at the Goblin Village, as they continue to bake cakes throughout the The Great Sunflower Bake Off event.
