Game development studio Janus Interactive, the developers of free-to-play WW2 trading card game Storm Warfare, has officially announced a free mint of 1000 Genesis Commander Dynamic NFTs, revealing in a new video that the minting will take place in late January. 

What Are Genesis Commander NFTs? 

Genesis Commanders are described as being the world’s first true Dynamic NFTs. In this game, they represent your character, as well as the opponent’s that you attempt to defeat in order to win a tactical card match. What makes them dynamic is the fact that as you play and progress through the game, your unique Commander changes over time, not just in appearance but also in attributes, donning various medals and honors while growing older. Commanders will be categorized into 5 different classes: Infantry, Naval, Aircraft, Tank, and Support Commanders. 

Free Mint & Utility 

Based on the latest video, a free mint of Genesis Commanders is planned to take place near the end of this month, which is when 1000 NFTs will be available for the taking, the total supply of these Genesis assets. The official Discord server also reveals that eventually, there will be Premium Commander NFTs, which will be possible to buy through marketplaces, with the total supply of these Commanders being 10k.

By owning such an NFT, it is said that players will enjoy varied utility, that includes not only the asset changing appearance and ascending in rank over time, but also providing card drops and a token airdrop as well. We will likely get to find out more about utility and free mint details later this month. 

Incubated by Seedify, Storm Warfare was available in open beta last month for a limited time, which is also when a tournament with $40k worth of prizes took place.
