Splinterlands is celebrating the upcoming Bitcoin halving with a promo event called Baron’s Bounty.

What Is Baron’s Bounty?

Baron’s Bounty is a promotional event that is being hosted in celebration of the upcoming Bitcoin halving, which will likely take place in a couple of days. This event will begin on April 16th, a few days before the halving, and will last for 15 days.

During this event, players will have the opportunity to buy 2 new limited edition promo cards using DEC tokens or Credits. If you have Vouchers, then you’ll even be able to reduce the price by half.

The 2 new cards that will be available are called Baron Fyatt and Henchling Enforcer.

Baron Fyatt and Henchling Enforcer

According to the announcement, there will be one Legendary Baron Fyatt and one Rare Henchling Enforcer card up for sale. Both cards are said to resemble dual-element units with the Halving ability, and they will only be available for sale during this event. Packs will not contain these new cards, so after the event ends, the only possible way to get these cards will be from other players through the peer-to-peer marketplace.

The price of the Baron Fyatt will be 31,250 DEC/Credits while the Henchling Enforcer will cost 3125 DEC/Credits for one BCX card. This pricing is meant to be symbolic in order to “commemorate the new Bitcoin block reward after the halving of 3.125 BTC.” Every Voucher token will lower the price by 50 DEC/Credits, with the sale allowing players to get a max Voucher discount of around 50%. The cost of a single purchase cannot be split between DEC and Credits, so you’ll have to use only one of them in order to successfully buy a card.

When buying a card, you will have a 4% chance of getting a Gold Foil version. If you buy 25 cards in the same transaction, you are then guaranteed to get at least one Gold Foil variant.

The sale also brings random and leaderboard-based rewards, with the former ones up for grabs for every 10k points gained. Points are gained by buying these new promo cards, with 1 point given for every DEC/Credit spent. Detailed info on rewards can be found in the announcement.
