Ather Labs, the developer of Sipher Odyssey, an isometric action RPG with roguelite and TCG elements, has officially opened pre-registration for the game’s upcoming open alpha release, and is rewarding anyone who signs up with various rewards that increase based on the number of pre-registered players.

How to Pre-Register

Pre-registering for this open alpha is made to be very simple for both Web3 and Web2 audiences. Anyone interested simply has to input their email address on the pre-registration page of the game’s official website in order to gain future access alongside various rewards. Once that’s done, you should receive an email providing you with details on what should be done next so you’re ready to claim your rewards once the game goes live.

The amount of rewards you could get varies based on the number of players that pre-register. At the time of writing, more than 19k users have completed the process. If the first milestone at 20k is reached, everyone who pre-registers will be eligible for 500 Rom and 5 Glimmer keys. The number of prizes can significantly increase if higher milestones are reached, and according to the developers, it seems these in-game rewards in total could be worth up to $100.

Open Alpha Details

While there is currently no official timeframe for the open alpha launch, there is some info on what we can expect to see in this early version of the Web3 title.

Based on their 2023 recap article, players can look forward to an experimental new game mode called Arena, a PvP mode where players try to complete the highest number of objectives while destroying each other. In line with this mode, an in-game leaderboard will also be in place to add further competition. Another new game mode labelled as Corruption was also teased, and is said to be “for all the hardcore gamers who like living on the edge...of your HP bar.” A new HUD is also on its way that should help provide a better user experience, and so are new game banners that you’ll see throughout the cross-platform title. New augments are also on the way to enable further playstyle diversity alongside new abilities that add more strategy and variety to top-down gameplay.
