After launching the Pre-Season event with a prize pool of over 2 million $ROBO tokens last month, the developers of turn-based strategy game RoboHero have now provided various details on the use of equipment, weapons and drones to help players create effective tactics in the Web3 mobile title.

Equipment

Each robot in the Gamestarter-backed multiplayer game can be equipped with 3 types of essential equipment: AI Unit, G Core and Energy Unit.

The AI Unit increases the robot’s attack range to enable targeting at long distances, while G Core boosts the Power stat to allow the robot to inflict higher damage and the Energy Unit ensures the robot can endure the fight by providing a bonus to the Vitality (HP) stat. Overall, getting the best set of equipment will help you create a stronger robot to give you a better chance of winning.

Weapons

The weapon you choose to equip your robot with will significantly affect your playstyle and strategy. There are 3 types of weapons to choose from: Melee Weapons, Sniper Weapons and Rifle Weapons.

If you’re going with a robot of tank class, you’ll probably want to use a Melee Weapon, as they do the highest amount of damage in close combat and have a 25% chance of stunning the opponent, lowering their energy by one for the next turn while taking 2 points from them. Equipping a Melee Weapon also gives the robot a bonus to the Vitality stat.

Dealing deadly long-range attacks that have a 25% chance of being critical hits is best achieved with Sniper Weapons. They take 3 points from the opponent on attack while giving you a buff to the Range stat. If you’re lucky enough to get a critical hit, the shot will deal 250% damage to your enemy.

Players looking for a balanced build can opt for Rifle Weapons. They come with decent range and power while giving you a 25% chance of doing a double hit to allow you to attack the enemy twice in one turn. These weapons provide a buff to the Range stat while deducting 4 points from the opponent when attacking.

Drones

Drones come with multiple use cases that can give players a strategic edge to winning their battles. Once placed at the start of a match, you can start using the Drone to scout out the terrain to uncover any hidden traps and reveal what the battlefield looks like, giving you a better idea on how to use the environment to your advantage. They have a special skill that allows them to mark the enemy with a flare to make it easier to target them. Drones can be used to block the opponent’s path to hinder their tactical movement, and they can even act as shields that block incoming attacks in potentially key moments.

All these utilities however do make Drones vulnerable, as traps and opponents can eventually take them down, and if that happens, they can’t be deployed again in the same match.
