Red Door Digital has recently announced that they soon plan to release the Vault Challenge major update for Awakening, the on-chain mining companion web game of the multiplayer cyberpunk tactical RPG, Reign of Terror.

While the first phase of the blockchain title was more single-player focused, in that it was about sending agents on various missions in order to gather useful intel on the corrupt leadership of Orshu in Orochi, this new update brings a variety of new challenges that allows players to make use of that intel by stealing valuable rewards from the Emperor’s newly-uncovered secret Imperial vaults.

As these vaults use a sophisticated dynamic locking mechanism, players will need to work together in order to successfully crack the codes of the vaults. Since the codes change every 8 days, players will have to figure out the right combination of letters and numbers in 7 days before the codes change to new ones.

The vault passwords are scattered in pieces across the ISO towers of Orochi, with every vault code placed in a set of ISO towers found in a different section of Orochi. With Orochi being divided into multiple districts, players will have to choose which district they would like to participate in during a challenge period, and choosing a district should be done as soon as possible, as each district allows for a limited number of players to take part in the challenge.

You can find more details on how this second phase works by heading to this official announcement post.

Reign of Terror runs on the Solana network and is backed by investors such as Shima Capital, Maven Capital, Momentum 6 and more. According to the whitepaper, another companion web title, Reign of Terror: Uprising, which is an on-chain autobattler, is set for release in the first quarter of this year, followed by the release of the main game in Q2 2023.
