The developers of Raini: The Lords of Light (RTLOL), have announced the start of Season 2 this month, bringing a new player rewards program to the free-to-play trading card game.

Season 2 Details

Season 2 began on Friday, December 1st, introducing a new player rewards program that puts more focus on “the joy of playing more.” Each of your actions is set to contribute to how much you will earn, giving both veterans and newcomers a chance to earn more by simply playing more with collectable cards.

Leaderboard Rewards have been backdated to November, while Play and Earn (P&E) and Collect and Earn (C&E) have been introduced as part of the new program.

What Does the New Program Bring?

The new reward program calculates prizes on a monthly basis, with the distributed rewards claimable on the RTLOL Player Profile page, meaning you should make sure you have a primary wallet selected on that page in order to have a chance at earning for free. While P&E and C&E rely on having on-chain cards, Leaderboard Rewards can be gained by playing as a free-to-play player.

Play and Earn (P&E)

Part of this new program is the P&E system. This monthly system revolves around playing Quick Match games with Collectable (on-chain) cards present in your deck, as these cards are what the system uses to calculate rewards. By playing Quick Match games, you get to earn base points that depend on the card rarity, with Common cards awarding 1 point, Uncommon 2, Rare 10, Legendary 20, and Mythic 100. If you win the match, these base points are multiplied by 5. In order to qualify for rewards during the calendar month, you need to earn a minimum of 200 base points. By doing so, your base points will be allocated to the total P&E point pool. This means that you’ll be able to earn a share of $RST tokens. Based on the tokenomics, 5% of the total $RST supply has been set aside for P&E, with the tokens set to be distributed monthly over the next 5 years for a total of 60 months. This equates to a total of 50 million tokens, or 833,333 $RST per calendar month.

Collect and Earn (C&E)

In C&E, collectors are rewarded for gathering collectable cards. Even if you trade them in the same month, the announcement states that they will still award you points in that month. The difference between P&E and C&E is that in this one, you don’t have to play Quick Match games to earn base points. All that’s needed is to simply have collectable cards in your wallet that is connected to the RTLOL Player Profile page. The more cards you have, and the rarer they are, the more points you get: 1 point for Common, 2 for Uncommon, 10 for Rare, 20 for Legendary, and 100 for Mythic cards. Points are multiplied depending on how long you owned that particular card during the calendar month, meaning that “if you owned a Chad Raini (Mythic) for half of the month, you’d earn 50 points for it.” The same pool details mentioned in P&E apply to the C&E reward pool.

Leaderboard Rewards

Earning rewards from the leaderboard does not require owning any collectable cards, but connecting your wallet to the RTLOL Player Profile page is needed in order to be eligible. By playing Quick Match games, you get to climb the Seasonal and Eternal Leaderboard. The Seasonal Leaderboard features 80% of the total leaderboard pool (80% of 416,666 $RST — 333,332 $RST) while Eternal gets 20% of 416,666 $RST — 83,333 $RST. Both reward the top 60 players. As the names imply, the Seasonal one counts performance only for that month, while Eternal takes into account everything, rewarding those who are still at the top at the end of each month.
