Nekoverse, a play-to-earn MMORPG and metaverse on the Solana network, has recently released a nicely-made cinematic trailer.
The trailer shows off a couple of different Nekos gearing up and making their way to something dangerous, with one of them slashing a couple of enemies on their way. Nekos are unique NFT elemental characters players can own, and are divided into 3 classes: Origin Quad (Fire, Nature, Earth, Water), Pancha Triad (Spirit, Ice, Lightning) and Void Dyad (Light and Dark).
Each Neko can have a profession, which can be assigned using Profession Items. There are various different professions players can choose to boost certain stats of their Nekos – they can be a hunter, a blacksmith, merchant and more.
Nekos can be used in PvE but also in PvP across a variety of different game modes including, 3v3, 1v1, Tournaments and more. The whitepaper describes the battle system as being real-time and skill-based. Next to combat, players will also get to craft various items, as they explore the Nekoverse world and gather resources.
The development team, consisting of 47 members, is preparing the game for its Alpha Season slated for release on July 1st this year. In their latest Medium post that reveals their updated roadmap for the rest of the year, it is said that this alpha will be “a private access to the early version of the battle system for our community.” A marketplace has been launched in partnership with Magic Eden, the latter of which raised $130 million in a Series B funding round last week.
Speaking of the roadmap, some of the features the team plans to include by the end of the year include the PvP mode, governance mining, an expedition system, graveyard system and more. For more information on governance mining and the latter two systems, check out their Medium post here.
