The developers of free-to-play Parallel TCG have officially announced the debut of the Parallel League with a whopping total prize pool of $500k.
What Is the Parallel League?
The Parallel League is set to be a series of global tournaments in which players will be able to earn prizes and points through “major tentpole events as well as sanctioned satellite events” before competing in the biggest event of the series, the Prime Champions Tournament.

The first event part of this series will be Planetfall Open. Planetfall is the name of the game’s first expansion set that brings 120 new cards, 3 new keys, playable Legendary PRIME rarity cards, plenty of cosmetics, and more. It was announced last year, with a public sale taking place on October 28th, 2023. Pack opening followed in Q4 2023, and the expansion now looks set to officially go live at some point during Q2 2024, according to the expansion’s official page.
As for this first competition, specific details do not seem to be available at the time of writing, with the announcement tweet stating that more information will be revealed soon.
After launching Parallel TCG into open beta in February this year, Parallel Studios managed to raise $35 million in a new funding round a month later, providing the developers with significant new finances to use in expanding their sci-fi world, which will include a new game called Colony, an AI-powered sim planned to go live in beta on Solana later this year.
This month marked the start of Season 2 of Parallel TCG, introducing a new Battle Pass as well as a new game mode: Tournaments. The game mode consists of 3 types of Tournaments: Open Tournaments, Standard Tournaments, and High Stakes Tournaments. Open Tournaments started on April 2nd, a day after the season started, while Standard Tournaments just recently went live.
