Developer Oh Baby Games has announced that an early access version of Shogun Curse is now available for purchase on Steam and on their own store.

What Is Shogun Curse?

Shogun Curse is a strategic roguelike deckbuilder similar to games such as Slay the Spire. Cursed by demons, you embark on a journey of revenge across a dynamic world shaped by your choices. As you progress through your desired path in the campaign, you’ll get to collect various cards and relics imbued with buffs and hidden powers, the latter of which can be activated by consuming them.

Early Access Details

According to info on the game’s Steam store page, the developers have decided to release an early version in order to allow the community to provide feedback so that the studio can see if they’ve managed to deliver an enjoyable experience by “letting the player experience the full game.” This means that you can play through 5 different acts representing the entire game, with these chapters said to feature over 100 different enemies that have their own abilities and attacking methods. While some issues might be present, the game is said to be “already in good shape,” so there shouldn’t be any major game-breaking bugs popping up. During this phase, which the team estimates will last up to 3 months, the focus will be on delivering balance patches while improving replayability and introducing multiple difficulty options. Next to the existing two playable character decks, at least one more is planned to be added after the full version goes live.

The game is playable on Mac and Windows PCs.
