The first NFT collection for casual sandbox MMORPG NomStead is launching next in the form of the Genesis Chest mint, which takes place across two phases on the Immutable network.

What Are NomStead Genesis Chests?

NomStead Genesis Chests are NFTs that can be opened to unlock exclusive benefits and rewards.

The collection comes with a supply of 4000 lootboxes that is divided into 3 types of chests: Wood Chest (3500), Emerald Chest (400), and Sapphire Chest (100).

Each type of chest contains at least one land extension, at least 1 month of NomStead visa, and the founder badge.

A land extension is a type of land you may have a chance of getting to unlock varied mechanics, with the quantity and the type depending on the kind of chest that you own. For example, the Wood Chest comes with an 80% chance of receiving grassland and a 20% of unpacking a small forest land type, while a Sapphire Chest not only gives you 2 land extensions, but also more diverse options, with the large forest and mountain having just about an equal chance of dropping, while there is only a 10% chance of snagging a stadium, which is a rare and unreleased land type of which only 100 exist, and only 10 can be found in this sale. Owning a stadium allows you to host “legal” PvP battles with your own custom rules. Other land types revolve around collecting different resources while possibly having the option to create buildings and objects on them. Players can also work together on these plots and share rewards in doing so.

The NomStead visa is the game’s monthly VIP pass that gives you perks such as a verified in-game badge, special airdrops, higher gold earnings, and early access to new features. The Wood Chest lets you get 1 month of this membership, while the Emerald Chest unlocks 3 months and the Sapphire Chest brings you 12 months of the visa to enjoy.

The founder badge is a rare title that introduces a special in-game badge while unlocking access to upcoming exclusive rewards and features.  For founder badges, the supply is only 4000, meaning every chest from this NFT sale is guaranteed to include one founder badge.

How to Mint NomStead Genesis Chest

The NomStead Genesis Chest sale is split into a Whitelist and General mint. Anyone who gets whitelisted will be able to mint on Tuesday, June 24 at 2 PM UTC, while all who wait for the public sale should mark their calendars for Thursday, June 26, 2 PM UTC.

There are a couple of ways to get on the whitelist for this sale. If you’re among the early players who played this web3 game before Immutable was integrated, then you should be automatically whitelisted. You’ll even get one free chest too. For anyone who’s new to this MMO, you may have a chance of securing your whitelist spot by participating in contests and becoming a contributor, with partner guilds also getting additional spots to give out to their communities. Best to keep an eye on the game's social media channels to stay in the loop for any opportunity.

Regardless of the mint phase you partake in, you will have the option to buy multiple chests, though some limits are said to apply in order to prevent abuse, with exact restrictions not revealed at the time of writing. It’s also not quite clear how supply is divided across the two phases. Once you mint one chest, you can choose to trade it on secondary markets, or open it to find out what’s inside. Opening Genesis Chests will not be available straight away though. Anyone wanting to open their chest will have to wait until July 15, the day in which the developers will celebrate via a community event through which holders will be able to reveal their chests and begin placing their tiles on the game’s map.
