A new update for Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds was recently released, introducing new PVP content titled “Fight for the Throne”.

With this new Kingdom PVP content, various Kingdoms of a server fight to claim the title of becoming a Capital. The Kingdom Lord or Steward has to bid in order to participate, with the top four Kingdoms with the highest bids getting picked to play the match. A Kingdom needs to be at least level 11 in order to bid. The winning Kingdom that ends up becoming the Capital gets various benefits, including exclusive costumes, an exclusive title as well as access to policy settings, a Capital event, Capital General Store and exclusive Dominion customization. Aside from this PVP-focused update, the developers have added in a pet system, allowing players to adopt cute little pets once they complete the reputation quest called “Finding a Soulmate”. Pets have their own stats and passive skills, all of which are added onto the player. Aside from future events containing pets as rewards, players can buy a Pet Summon Ticket at the Asterite Shop, while using the Summon Shop to summon the pet. There are two slots for equipping a pet: a main slot and a sub slot. Duplicates cannot be equipped at the same time, as only the stats of one pet will be applied. Equipping a pet in the main slot gives the players both the base stats of the pet as well as the passive skills of it, while a sub slot only gives the base stats to the player.
