Mythical Games is celebrating the first anniversary of their officially-licensed arcade sports title NFL Rivals by revealing big new changes coming to the Draft program.
What’s Changing?
A new program currency called Caps is being introduced, and it comes with the standard 4:1 conversion rate from the previous program currency. This means that you can, for example, turn 10,000 Boom tokens into 2500 Caps.
Next to the new program currency, new cards and packs are of course also on the way alongside 2 new weekly events: Roster Rush and Podium Pursuit. Roster Rush will take place on Tuesdays while Podium Pursuit will be available on Thursdays, with both events rewarding participants with Caps.
New rookie cards will not include details such as player names, teams, positions or artwork on release as players haven’t been drafted yet. The cards will be updated after the NFL Draft in Detroit is over to match the first 32 round picks. Specifically, the first 10 picks will be Legendary, followed by 10 Epic and 12 Rare cards. Chase cards will include previous Draft Greats in order to “celebrate some of the top NFL players who were not selected in the first round of their respective Drafts.”
Tiered Events
Weekend chase events are getting some big changes in order to make them more engaging for everyone than ever before. These new adjustments will be included with the first Legendary chase event of the Draft program. There will be different prize pools for players to compete for depending on their League ranking. Prize pools are split into 3 Tiers: Bronze, Silver and Gold. The Bronze Tier is for Leagues 1-3, while the Silver Tier is for Leagues 4-6 and the Gold Tier is for Leagues 7-9.
By adding these prize tiers, players will have fairer competition than before as they will only be competing against opponents in the same tier.
New Rewards System
To encourage players to take part in Year 2 in August, a new rewards system is now in place for players who spend Gems and make in-game purchases. This means that from now on until the start of Year 2, players can earn a limited-time game resources called Keys by buying player packs and blueprints using Gems or Apple/Google Pay or through the Power Pass progression system. These Keys can be redeemed for special Year 2 Cases that unlock at the beginning of Year 2. If you gain 3 Year 2 Cases, you’ll get a bonus reward, while collecting all 5 Year 2 cases will get you an even better bonus reward.
