Mythical Games is back with more seasonal content for their officially-licensed blockchain title, NFL Rivals, this time launching for it the Cold Snap program.

What Is Cold Snap?

Cold Snap is a new program releasing just in time for the holidays. It’s set to last for 8 weeks and is made to cover all of the playoffs, dividing the program into two 4-week sections: Offense and Defense. Both sections will feature their own program currencies and come with different collections of players. Defense will first make its way on December 7th at 10 AM ET / 7 AM PT, followed by Offense on January 4th at 10 AM ET / 7 AM PT.

New Player Cards & Power Pass

A new kind of player card is being introduced with this program, in tune with this time of year: Snowmen. These are collectible cards containing a “Snow Day” date. This date refers to the time when the card will “melt” in order to surprise you with a special edition player card. The cards that will be possible to get this way will represent players who have had exceptional performances in the snow.

Next to the special collectible card, a new Power Pass is also included for this program, with the announcement stating that the team plans on having a new Power Pass for every new program. To provide an even more engaging experience during the course of this program, the developers are releasing a new in-game item that you can purchase if you want to “level up your rewards as you play through the program and make progress through the tracks.”

As was the case with the Autumn Rush event and the Monster Smash program, this one too comes with seasonal card art. Here’s a look at the upcoming Luminous card art:
