The developers of on-chain farming game My Neighbor Alice have published an updated 2024 roadmap to give the community an idea of what’s in the works on the road to decentralization.
What’s Included in the New Roadmap?
The new roadmap contains a variety of different milestones that the team has set out to complete over the course of this year. While there are no specific timeframes available for any of the upcoming new features, what is known, according to the official announcement, is that Beta Season 1 is the first part of this journey to decentralization and that it represents “a bold stride toward realizing a decentralized, player-driven world.” In order to achieve this, the developers are working on developing the option to bridge the $ALICE ERC20 (Ethereum) token in order to be able to use in-game $ALICE minted on Ethereum. A decentralized NFT bridge is also in the works to enable in-game trading of ERC721 items, with a decentralized networking solution and the first version of a UGC tool also planned for this year.
Beta Season 1
This first season of the beta version of the multiplayer Web3 title is set to include various new game mechanics that are designed to foster collaboration and social interaction while helping create a player-driven economy. This means that players can look forward to the first version of in-game player-to-player trading in this upcoming season, with the trading system set to have items minted only on the Chromia network. We can also expect to see more in-depth social systems, which may include the option to invite to invite other players to collaborate with you on the same land plot. Speaking of lands, the ability to name land plots is also on the way, and so is utility for fruits grown from the Mysterious Seeds.
