The developers of My Neighbor Alice, a free-to-play builder game on the Chromia blockchain, have revealed details on the upcoming Farming feature that players will be able to enjoy in the second Alpha Season.
The fish that is caught using the Fishing feature that released in the first season will be exchangeable for seeds. These seeds players will be able to plant in order to grow plants and gain material that will later be needed for crafting various advanced materials and objects. There will be a variety of different seeds to plant, with the team describing that the farming yields are “whimsical,” making the farming feature unique. You’ll get to see seeds grow into plants such as “fruit trees bearing little bells or corks, pumpkins made of stone, sticky leaves of glue” and even plants made out of cloth that make it possible to “harvest them and directly sew a tunic with your yield.” There will even be plants that allow you to harvest light.
While Season 2 likely won’t feature the ability to craft objects using the yield gained from farming, players will still get to enjoy uncovering around 40% of the resources that can be gained from farming. Players will also be able to plant seeds into the same part of land, making it possible to merge crops and thus form a larger plant, with the team also stating that “if one of those plants was originally growing into fertile soil it makes the entire piece of soil fertile.”
