The studio behind Web3 relaxing social farming game My Neighbor Alice have announced the launch of Beta Season 1 on the Chromia blockchain, marking a significant transition from its alpha releases.
What’s New in the First Beta Season?
The start of this season is said to mark a new phase in the game’s road to decentralization, as previously revealed in the 2024 roadmap, but it’s also a new version that brings a host of notable features for players to enjoy and interact with. Among these features is the introduction of the Emote System and Trading System. Next to these systems, there are other in-game features for players to have fun with as well, including new quests and new Crafting Stations, the latter of which can now also be found in town hubs instead of just player plots, “significantly expanding the possibilities for crafting seeds, tools, and more.” Another in-game feature is Tool Migration, which the official update post states brings various upgrades and levels for tools to add further depth to gameplay.
Game director Steve Haßenpflug had the following to say regarding this new transition:
“The conclusion of the Alpha seasons was a crucial step toward honoring the commitments made to our supportive community. This transition also represents a major internal shift, signaling the start of a new phase in the project’s journey.”
As for the game’s marketplace, it’s been updated with a new homepage, the ability to sell items at a fixed price, and the option to login using only your crypto wallet.
Emote & Trading Systems

The Emote System introduces a new way of social interaction to the blockchain title. Instead of just using traditional in-game gestures, the system lets you use emotes that not only animate your character accordingly but also add depth to the ways you can express yourself through the use of visual icons.

The Trading System on the other hand gives players the opportunity to buy and sell items on the Chromia network using a new Storefront, paving the way for a player-driven marketplace where player’s actions have an impact on the game world’s economy.
How to Play
Playing requires owning a Land NFT which can be bought on the game’s official marketplace using $ALICE tokens on the BNB Chain, but anyone can also give the season a try for free by claiming a free trial plot that provides full access to the game.
