On Wednesday, My Lovely Planet launched its biggest in-game event so far: the Pink Diamond Competition. With over $120,000 in rewards up for grabs, anyone playing the game can now join the race to earn high-tier digital diamonds. Built like a classic match-3 puzzle game, My Lovely Planet adds a real-world twist where every move you make helps support environmental causes.
Pink Diamond Event is Now Live
The Pink Diamond Competition officially started on November 26. It's all about collecting and upgrading in-game diamonds. The goal is simple: earn as many as you can, climb through 9 diamond tiers, and reach the top-tier Pink Diamond before limited supplies run out.
You'll begin by collecting Blue Diamonds, the most common tier. From there, the challenge is to keep upgrading your way up. The grind can be steep, as completing a level usually gives only a few Blue Diamonds, so climbing all the way to Pink takes real effort. But higher-tier diamonds bring bigger rewards, and every upgrade increases your potential earnings.
Getting Started in the Competition
To join, just download My Lovely Planet from the App Store or Google Play. Once you're in, head to the Blue Diamond tab on the main screen. That's where you activate the Pink Diamond event. Confirm you're over 18, sign in with Google, complete the first 5 levels, and then fund your in-game wallet with $MLC tokens (either by deposit or purchase to stake them later).
After that, your job is to stack up as many Blue Diamonds as possible. You can earn them by clearing game levels, referring friends, or (starting in December) staking $MLC.

Growing Your Diamond Collection
There are 9 diamond types, and each upgrade requires more Blue Diamonds than the last. Only the base Blue Diamond has unlimited supply. Starting with the Solar Diamond tier, supplies are capped, which means the competition to secure higher-tier diamonds is tight.
If you've collected enough diamonds of the same type, you can upgrade them directly in your inventory. There's no cap on how many upgrades you can perform. Just keep collecting, and the game does the rest.

Referrals Help You Climb Faster
One way to speed things up is by inviting others. Each successful referral adds 50 Blue Diamonds to your count. All you need to do is head to the diamond tab, tap "Invite," and share your code. Once your friend downloads the app and enters the code, you both earn in the game.
Given how much grinding it takes to get to the higher tiers, referrals can make a huge difference in how quickly you move up.
Act Fast, Diamond Supplies Are Limited
If you're hoping to grab one of the rarest diamonds, you'll want to act quickly. While Blue Diamonds are always available, all other tiers, starting from Solar, are limited in supply. Pink Diamonds are the hardest to get, with only 40 available in total. If you're aiming for that top-tier reward, every grind counts.
To put things in perspective, you'll need more than 65,000 Blue Diamonds to get a single Pink Diamond. That makes strategy and timing crucial.
Rewards and Converting to $MLC
Each diamond tier has its own $MLC value, and the higher the tier, the bigger the payout. A Pink Diamond, for example, is worth 15,000 $MLC. That's far more than any lower-tier reward. The exponential growth between tiers gives players a strong incentive to keep upgrading.
You can't convert your diamonds to $MLC unless you've staked at least $100 worth of tokens. This staking feature will go live in December, and once it's active, you'll also get Blue Diamonds passively while your tokens are locked.
Understanding the Token
$MLC (My Lovely Coin) is the token that powers the whole system. It's used for staking, unlocking upgrades, and eventually converting diamonds into real-world value. The token first launched in June 2024 with a larger supply, but after a major token burn in January 2025, the total supply was reduced to 230 million.
$MLC also has deflationary mechanics in place. 2% of all repurchased tokens are burned on a regular basis, with the goal of eventually bringing the supply down to 100 million.

What's Coming Next
According to the game's roadmap, staking will be added in December. Once that happens, you'll get to earn Blue Diamonds passively just by holding MLC in your wallet. A mechanic called the Cauldron will slowly fill up with diamonds over time, but you'll need to collect them manually to keep it running. If you let it fill to the top, it pauses until you tap it.
You'll also be able to upgrade the Cauldron using fiat purchases, which helps extend the amount you can earn between each collection.
The conversion system is scheduled to go live in January. Once it's active, anyone with enough staked MLC and a qualifying amount of diamonds will be able to convert their in-game progress into real tokens. These can then be traded or used within the My Lovely Planet ecosystem.
All 9 Diamond Tiers
My Lovely Planet's diamond system includes 9 distinct types: Blue, Solar, Earth, Aura, Ruby, Luna, Fire, Galaxy, and Pink. Each new level multiplies your rewards and becomes harder to obtain.
Here's a rough idea of what that scaling looks like: Ruby Diamonds are worth around 1 $MLC, Galaxy Diamonds jump to 900 $MLC, and Pink Diamonds top the chart at 15,000 $MLC. Reaching the top requires collecting and upgrading thousands of lower-tier diamonds. It's a steep path, but the rewards are huge.
Inside the Token Ecosystem
Beyond just rewards, $MLC plays a big role in the broader game economy. You'll use it for staking and converting your diamonds into tokens. If you don't already hold MLC, the game includes a built-in fiat on-ramp, so you can buy tokens directly using a credit card.
A portion of the MLC supply is locked in 2 key treasuries. The first is the Environmental Treasury, which holds 15.22% of the total supply and will fund eco-projects chosen by the community. The second is the Community Reward Treasury, holding 7.39%, which fuels in-game competitions, referrals, and growth incentives.
What Is My Lovely Planet?
At its heart, My Lovely Planet is a casual mobile puzzle game that feels a lot like Candy Crush, but with real-world impact. Completing levels doesn't just move you forward in the game. It directly supports reforestation, wildlife protection, and ocean cleanup efforts.
The game is the brainchild of Clément Le Bras, also known for creating lilo.org, a search engine that funds NGOs. With My Lovely Planet, his goal is to bring together 100 million players by 2030 to help plant a billion trees and support global climate action.
My Lovely Planet has also earned recognition from some of the biggest names in tech and gaming. The team won the Unity for Humanity prize, was selected for the Ubisoft Entrepreneur Lab, received a FrenchTech Award, and earned a national award from KissKissBankBank. More recently, the game was chosen as one of the Top Google Play Store Apps for 2025, featured in Google Play's "We Are Play" campaign.
The game runs without ads and can be played offline. Players track their tree‑planting progress through the in‑game dashboard.
Why the Competition Matters Now
With only 40 Pink Diamonds in existence and staking launching soon, the event is heating up fast. The $120,000+ prize pool is already drawing attention, and those who act early stand the best chance of making it to the top. To learn more or get started, you can find My Lovely Planet on both the App Store and Google Play.
