Mini Royale: Nations has announced the launch of the Faraway Map Creator Program, inviting map makers to create a variety of environments for the FPS and land strategy game. The program is designed to encourage creativity and offers a compensation of $200 USDC for each approved map.
The Faraway Creator Program has no aesthetic requirements for maps and welcomes submissions of all styles and themes. Map artists are encouraged to use free and paid asset packs, but they must review Unity's guidelines before doing so as not all asset packs from the Asset Store can be used. Additionally, map artists are advised to review the existing maps available in Mini Royale: Nations to get a feel for the level of quality that will be accepted.
To ensure that all submissions adhere to technical requirements, there are two files that should be included in every submission: a visual map file and a physics file. The visual map file should be in .glb format, with a maximum size of 20 MB, a maximum draw call of 400, and a maximum polygon count of 500k. The physics file should also be in .glb format and should not include textures, normal, UV, etc., with a maximum size of 6 MB.
Map artists should take note of the requirements for 3D models and scenes, including the pivot point, unnecessary rotations or scaling, instance usage, hierarchy, and clean UV.
Maps can be submitted to the Faraway team via the map submission form, which can be accessed through the link provided on their website. The Faraway team will evaluate maps based on technical requirements, originality, and quality. If a map is rejected, the team may include requested changes in their rejection message to the artist, who is then welcome to resubmit after making necessary updates.
Once a map is accepted, the creator will be notified via a DM on Discord, and a group chat will be set up to handle edit rounds to ensure that the map is playable in Mini Royale: Nations. Payment will be delivered after the map has been finalized with the Faraway Map Team.
The official guide can be found here, where you’ll also find a link to the application form for submitting your map.
Last month, the developers introduced Burn Points to the game, giving players a new way to acquire in-game Premium Heroes.
