The developers of Mines of Dalarnia have revealed that the game’s upcoming Update 1.3: Operation Astrolab is set to introduce various rebalancing changes to a number of different perks
The goal of this rebalance is not to nerf any perks, but to redesign various perks being underused as a result of being not very useful to use or being “too difficult to balance fairly.” Items affected by these changes include a couple of Picks, almost all Armor, and only 3 Weapons. The kinds of perks that have been altered include the Gem Bonus Perks, Specific Defense Perks and Hybrid Perks.
While the developers state that no changes were given to green and red bonuses, the new “monster gem bonus” does affect the purple gem bonus, making it possible for players focused on creating more offensive-focused builds to up their score when taking down various monsters.
Monster-type defenses are getting an overhaul due to currently being too specific, which resulted in players struggling to use them in their builds. In the new update, these perks will instead buff various stats in certain aspect biomes, thus “allowing players to double down on aspect-specific builds.”
Last but not least are the rare hybrid perks that cause a buff in one stat but a debuff in another. The developers have noticed that this tradeoff isn’t really favorable, especially considering how rare it can be to get these perks, leading the developers to make the following change: debuffs will no longer be a part of these perks in future. They will instead increase 2 different stats and not just one, which should make it worth using them much more for balanced builds.
