Adventure mining game Mines of Dalarnia is getting a new Ape Quest on April 1st, 2024, featuring major changes in comparison to previous monthly editions.

What Are the New Changes?

In an effort to make the quest more accessible, the developers have decided to move it from Competitions over to Regular Mines. This means that players are no longer limited by a certain number of attempts per day like before, allowing anyone to complete quests at their own pace while earning rewards both from regular mining and from quests. You now no longer need to wait for a new competition to start in order to complete a quest but can instead do everything in one day if you’d like.

Specifically, completing one quest is now done by doing 10 digs, with every dig requiring players to have 25 fragments in their inventory. You can dig on any plot that you want, and if you own a couple of apes, then you can do a total of 7 quests, equivalent to 70 digs.

As a result of this change, competitions will be temporarily paused while the team looks into turning them into special events, as the developers believe that in their current format, they “do not provide enough enjoyment for players.” Rewards however will still be claimable 30 days after playing a competition. With no more new competitions on the way, the team can now use the play-to-earn allocation “in more exciting ways,” with more info on what’s in store to be revealed the coming months.

When it comes to elements that haven’t changed, the 150 $DAR reward per ape has stayed the same, and so has the snapshot time and the 1 quest per ape limit.

A total of 838,800 $DAR has been distributed through Ape Quests so far, with the remaining pool consisting of 961,200 $DAR tokens.

To play the upcoming quests, you need to own a Mining Ape NFT before the snapshot takes place at the start of every month at 12 AM UTC.
