In an exclusive interview Glossy, creative agency Cult LDN has announced a new makeover-focused event called the Metaverse Beauty Week, and it’s coming to Decentraland, Roblox and Spatial in June this year.
Specifically, the event will start on June 12th and end on June 16th, during which various know and niche beauty brands as well as retailers will take part. According to the exclusive, the event is inspired by Decentraland’s Metaverse Fashion Week, and will attempt to learn from its mistakes by focusing on “experiences versus literal replications of real-life shops” according to Cult LDN CEO and co-founder of Metaverse Beauty Week, Bridey Lipscombe, who claims that the digital shop replicas were not as successful as the gamified parts of Decentraland’s event were.
Throughout this upcoming new event, attendees will be able to participate in various different contests that will feature both digital and physical prizes. The event will feature wearable NFTs users can use on in-game avatars, such as emotes as well as hair and beauty-related features.
By organizing the event across multiple different platforms, Cult LDN is abiding by its main principle for this event, and that is interoperability, with Lipscombe saying that “interoperability factors into this because that is ultimately where we see scale for these experiences for beauty brands.”
