The free mint for Meta Racing's Ability Cards officially goes live today, December 3. Powered by the Solana network and launching through the Magic Eden platform, the mint is completely free, aside from a small network fee of about 0.0042 SOL. With 3,000 total packs up for grabs and only a few spots available, time and luck will play a role in who gets in.
Mint Details and Schedule
The mint will roll out in 3 phases, starting with the GTD Whitelist at 12:00 UTC. This group has guaranteed access and is limited to those who secured early support roles or achieved top levels in the project's Zealy tasks.
Three hours later, at 15:00 UTC, the FCFS Whitelist stage begins. Here, only the fastest wallets will be able to mint. Over 3,500 FCFS whitelist entries were given out, but there are not enough packs to go around. While this technically allows anyone on the list to participate, only the quickest will get in.
Finally, the public mint stage opens at 17:00 UTC. This is the last chance for anyone not on a whitelist. Only a handful of packs are expected to be left by this time, if any. Public users can mint up to 2 packs per wallet, while both whitelist phases allow only 1 mint each.
All users need a small amount of SOL to cover gas and the Magic Eden fee, estimated around 0.0042 SOL. Wallets must be active and ready to sign the transaction the moment their phase begins.
What Are Ability Cards?
The Ability Cards are a central piece of gameplay in Meta Racing. They work as tools that guide how races play out. While the cars and pilots put players on the track, it's the cards that shape each part of the match.
Every card carries a strategic function. Some offer boosts, while others can slow rivals down or shift how a turn unfolds. You can activate these cards in real time, which means choices happen mid-race. This makes gameplay more than just speed; it becomes a mind game.
There are 5 card types: Boost, Attack, Defence, Control, and Trick. Each one affects racing in a different way, from pushing past other racers to blocking or disrupting opponent moves. Building a working deck means balancing styles. Some players might go aggressive with fast combo plays, while others may play slow and defensive.
Cards are also broken into rarities, with stronger effects found in higher tiers. In total, each card has 3 upgrade levels. These upgrades unlock stronger versions and open new options for tactics and deck building.
What to Expect During the Mint
The 3,000-card supply is limited, and not everyone will get a pack. Half the supply, or 1,500 units, has been reserved for the GTD Whitelist. These are guaranteed mints, meaning the other half will need to be fought over during the FCFS and public stages.
With 3,500 FCFS spots given out, the competition will be tight. It's expected that this stage will mint out most of the remaining supply, making the public stage very hard to enter. Still, those without a whitelist can try their luck when the final phase opens in the later hours of December 3.
Where the Mint Is Happening
The mint is being hosted on Magic Eden's launchpad for Solana projects. Magic Eden is a leading marketplace in the Solana space, and this partnership puts Meta Racing's drop in front of a large, blockchain-native gaming audience.
Users can access the mint directly through the official link. The countdown timer on the page is now live, ticking down to each phase start.
Overview of Meta Racing
Meta Racing is a blockchain-based racing game that combines tactical card play with real-time racing. It was first launched as a Telegram mini-game built on the TON network. The project is now shifting to Solana.
Described as a collectible card game inside a racing world, Meta Racing offers a mix of strategy and action. Cards are the key to victory, not just car speed or reflexes. Each race plays out like a puzzle, where the winner is often the one who adapts faster.
According to the team, the visual and world design leans into dieselpunk themes, creating a dark, post-industrial future controlled by mega-corps. Races happen not just on tracks, but in contested zones where tactics matter as much as timing. Cards will decide how a player's car handles, attacks, or defends during key moments in the match.
Meta Racing completed an alpha test with over 10,000 players before starting the move to Solana. That test allowed the team to prove that the core idea works in live games. Players built decks, made real-time choices, and competed in a live environment.
The version now being prepared for Solana brings card-based strategy to a wider audience. Players will use their cards to create builds, test tactics, and compete in new racing formats.
How the Mint Impacts Gameplay
Minting a pack of Ability Cards means you can start with a full set of tools. Each pack contains enough cards to build a starting deck and take part in core game modes. Since the cards shape the tactics used during races, having access to them early on will allow you to test different styles right away.
Ability Cards are also required to enter competitive race mode, which is where players can earn token rewards. New players can begin shaping their strategies from the first day of gameplay. That includes trying out all 5 card types and mixing them to form unique decks.
While this mint doesn't guarantee rare cards, all cards are functional. Every deck can be built and improved by combining cards, upgrading them, and shifting builds to fit different racing conditions.
