After teasing support for Bitcoin Runes at the end of March, NFT marketplace Magic Eden has now officially added the option to view and trade them in a new Beta program.

For this beta release, which came a day earlier than planned, the integration of this new fungible token standard features the Runes Table View and the Runes Splitter.

Table View

The Runes Table View is basically the buying page you get after selecting a Rune. It contains a couple of customization options that let you select the price and adjust lot sizes while filtering unit and total prices. Before completing the purchase by connecting a Bitcoin wallet, you get to see both the amount of BTC you have to pay as well as the standard network fee. You can adjust the network fee either by choosing a custom amount or selecting one of the 3 available presets: Low, Standard or High.

Splitter

This feature makes it possible to split your Runes into customizable lots, giving you the option to choose to list some while keeping the rest, making it easier to control and manage your owned tokens.

Future Plans

In the future, the team is planning to add more features for an even better experience. Among these is the Swaps Mode, Discovery Tab, new analytics & charts as well as the ability to see the Runes value in the Magic Eden Wallet. The Swaps Mode will make it possible to easily find the best option by inputting the number of BTC you’d like to spend, while the Discovery Tab will properly allow users to see what’s trending while sorting by market cap and more.
