Lattice has announced The Race to Mainnet, opening the Redstone Chain for the Developer Preview ahead of the official mainnet public launch on May 1st.

Preview Details

During these weeks leading up to the public mainnet launch, the Developer Preview will allow studios to test out their games and apps to make sure they’re ready for users on May 1st. A total of 8 projects are participating in this preview, during which the community can look forward to various insights, livestreams and interviews that aim to transparently show what it’s like to develop fully on-chain projects and autonomous worlds.

Launch Projects

Users can look forward to a variety of projects launching in May, including the company’s own game, Sky Strife, a fully on-chain RTS that is set to feature tactical fast-paced 2D gameplay. On-chain developer Small Brain Games will also be releasing an unnamed game, while Berlin-based indie studio Moving Castles will launch This Cursed Machine, described as a "science-fiction body horror fulfillment center simulator.”

Next to these 3 projects, the community can also look forward to a Minecraft-like sandbox called Biomes. Developer Playmint will look to launch a moddable MMO called Downstream, which is described as the "world's first Post Singularity Civilisation Simulator,” while ARPA Network plans on releasing an eerie-looking pixelated game called DEAR.

Aside from 6 new games, there will be 2 apps launching as well: GG Quest and DF Archon. GG Quest is an on-chain gaming guild focused on bringing an on-chain progression system to games, while DF Ares is a set of community-organized rounds for Dark Forest, a decentralized RTS built with zk-snarks on Ethereum and the Gnosis Chain.
